say it isn't real...

it's been thunderstorming
all week here,
and (as cliched as it sounds)
i feel like the clouds
are expressing what
i sometimes cannot.

--------------

i entered this contest
and would be so thrilled to win,
for obvious reasons.

  1. oh my god, I was looking at this contest page JUST TODAY, trying to pluck up the courage to enter, going through my polaroids wondering if any are good enough to enter... AND I saw a photo that I thought looked familiar, like one I'd seen before... It was yours! YOU are too good. I hope you win!

Aside from that I hope your week is going somewhat better? How are the plans to go freelance going?

    1. you are so kind! :) i think you should enter it! it'll be so awesome to see your entries up there, and i'm curious to see what spring polaroids you've got up your sleeve. (i was kinda worried about putting my real name on there, but i guess it's gotta happen sometime.)

work is going slowly, due to waiting on materials, but i'm busying myself reading lots of small-business manuals (handmade marketplace, by kari chapin, is pretty darn awesome) and etsy blogs, and doing mock-ups of business cards for my hang-tags. how are you doing over there? :)

    2. It's so exciting, I can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm glad you put your real name up there, it's the first step. I still haven't told any family about my blog - difficult to explain but when my shop it open they'll find it for themselves, so until then, it's just me, my husband and one friend knows!

I might enter, but my polaroids are a bit rubbish. I am way out of practice - and film for that matter!

Work is, well, slow. I am desperately trying to get everything done but there's just so much to do it's overwhelming sometimes. I'll get there though!

    3. my family know about my blog, but aren't the type to 'follow' it, so i'm lucky that way, i guess! haha.

and i hear you on the out-of-film scenario...what type of polaroid(s) do you have anyhow?

i pretty much feel the same way about work - it always seems that there's something else to do that i've managed to forget! it gets frustrating after a while...

    4. I'm going to do a post about my cameras I think - just a small post, but sort of inspired by your polaroids. Do you mind if I link back to your site - and if so, can I use your name or would you rather I didn't? :)

    5. i'm ok with first names! and gosh that's sweet of you to include me...i'm so excited to see what 'gear' you've got, haha. :) (in fact, i might do a show-and-tell too. hmm...)

    6. YES! do it! I don't have a lot of gear, just basics. I 'dabble' in photography so am not very good but I do LOVE it. My dad is a photographer so I caught the bug, but not necessarily the talent! ha! By the way, thanks for the encouragement, I entered the impossible contest. I do not stand a hope in hell, but at least I tried, right?!

    7. i'm so excited to see your submissions! don't worry about winning, it's more the 'playing the game' that's the hard part. :)

that's awesome that your dad's a photographer - lucky you! i wish i had that kind of familial support, sigh. i guess i get to be the trailblazer for my family? haha.

    1. HEH, totally cool! i like having oodles of comments (even if they're just from you, haha). :)

i LOVE the colours in your shots...everything glows! (is that really the new 600 impossible film? i've only used the spectra film, which, as we all know, i dislike, colour-wise.)

  3. Thank you! Yes it was, but it was from the first flush (FF) batch - it gave everything a warm glow which I liked. I'm not sure why or how! I went to buy more but it sold out! They have newer versions but I just can't pay out for it right now.

    1. i thought so! i'm getting good, with my pola-eyes (i almost said polar-eyes, but it was too cheesy)... :) i know what you mean about the expensiveness of the new film - less images per pack, unreliable colours, and you want me to pay HOW much? (ok, ok, i'm just happy it exists at all. i'll pay whatever you want, film gods!)
